Stephanie migrated to Bellingham in her mid-twenties, and somehow managed to find employment at Paper Dreams where she is nestled between two of her favorite things in the world: books and copious amounts of candy. On her lunch breaks, you can usually find her on the mezzanine of Village Books eating the best soup in the world at Book Fare Cafe.

Coobie Bras

This is is one of those “can it really be as good as they say” products. Ask pretty much any of the female employees at Village Books or Paper Dreams, and you’ll get a resounding “Yes!” There are two sizes, the One Size (yes, this is confusing) and the Full Size. Most of us own at least one Coobie, and rumor has it that  a certain coworker is up to eight. I once had a customer buy one and come back later to get seven more. Yeah, it’s that good.

Chewy Praline Fudge

As and avid chocoholic who feels pretty ambivalent about nuts in my sweets, you must trust me when I say that the best fudge flavor we make is chewy praline, which breaks both of my rules. It’s a vanilla fudge with a layer of caramel and pecans in the center, and it’s life-changing. I find that vanilla fudges taste sweeter and somehow less rich than most of the chocolate varieties, enchancing the flavors they combine with rather than competing. That said, Chocolate Salted Caramel is a very close second, and also our best-selling flavor.

These are kind of a love ’em or hate ’em  item in our bulk candy section, but I’ve always thought they were great. Careful though…they’re really addicting!
